Just moved to a new town & finding it hard to make friends.

Cerberus73 You need to get some hobbies/pass times that have a more social aspect. also depends if you are just looking to make pals or potential partners, as that is a whole different ballgame. It can be especially difficult it seems these days. as folks don't go out or even date in the same way they used to. back in the day we would go out with our work colleagues, meet folk in the pub. your neighbours etc.. but folks all seem frankly terrified to "speak to a rando" its all a bit sad.. and this is coming from someone that isnt the most social of animals by nature. 4 days ago

capricorn88 Unfortunately due to being a single mum and at university full time, I don't have much free time to get a hobby etc. The free time I do have I walk the dog and do housework but your right when it comes to meeting people. It seems people have forgotten the art of having a conversation or even starting one and when you do make the first move to initiate conversation, you either don't get a response or its just a few exchanges of pleasantries then get ghosted 3 days ago

Cerberus73 No friends at uni? I'm an old fart but whilst at uni, twice for my sins. i was always out and about. first time i was technically classed as a "mature student" as i was over 21, second, hell i was in my mid 30's. was still out dancin on tables. But TBH I'm glad i don't have to date in todays day and age. folk don't talk in the pub, nor anywhere else for that matter. if you do speak to someone they look at you like you're a weirdo... ok im AM a weirdo, but thats besides the point yesterday
