h3lls Disabilities come in many forms and stages, some hidden, some not, but everyone has some skill set. Don't focus on what you can't do; look at what you can do. I don't know your circumstances, but organisations are more willing to take on people with disabilities. People work remotely, too. If you don't feel you are skilled, try studying or trying new things. I'm classed as disabled, I'm 59 and doing a master's if I can do it, anyone can. We respect your internet safety and privacy

Do you ever worry, when typing in your personal details and signing up to an unknown website? With us, you don't need to. If you look in the top left of your address bar, you will see a padlock icon on all of our pages. That's because we are one of the only providers of UK Chat Rooms to run SSL / HTTPS across our entire site. Any data you send is encrypted using the latest, most up to date technologies, making us the safest chat room provider in England, Wales and Scotland.

Our rooms are moderated

Unfortunately, through their very nature, UK Chat Rooms attract people whose intentions are, in all honesty, not very good or friendly. While the vast majority of users in our friendly community are welcoming and decent, there are always a few bad apples, and this also exists in chat rooms in 2020. We are proud to say that we are one of the only regional chat room websites to offer honest, and consistent moderation. Let's be honest, chat rooms are generally meant to be fun, and we don't expect anyone to be serious and on their best behaviour. In fact, we like people to be themselves, and if that means letting a few swear words slip, in the course of being funny and humourous and making other chatters laugh, then this is something that we encourage, and even partake in ourselves. What we do manage to achieve, however, is to strike a great balance between promoting this ethos, but also being robust in how we deal with troublemakers (often known as trolls) in our UK Chat Rooms. The end result of this, are friendly community chatrooms where everyone is happy, relaxed, and feels safe.

We don't allow children

When we made this site, in the knowledge that thousands of people would then use it to chat online, we asked ourselves the question "how can we best protect those people who are the most vulnerable" when they come to our England Chat Rooms? The sad reality is, no website can ever fully protect it's users, or 100% guarantee their online safety, especially when it comes down to freely available chat rooms, but this doesn't remove the fact that we have a moral duty to try our best. Unfortuately, it is a sad fact that adults who have an unhealthy interest in children, often frequent chat rooms, in order to seek them out. For this reason, we feel that we have no option, other than to be an 18+ website. Therefore, we do not allow anyone under this age to sign up. For this same reason, unlike our competitors, we don't stoop as low as to provide Naughty Chat Rooms, or indeed, Teen Chat Rooms.

We are far more than just another community chat room site. ChatterboxUK offers a vast range of social features! We have a modern, intuiative forum, where you can take part in debates about all manner of subjects or interests. We also have a Social Community, which will look very much like other social media websites you have seen before. Here, you can create posts, and also comment, like, and react to posts made by others. You can upload photos, and videos, to your hearts content, and also browse the profiles of thousands of other members, who are nearly all in the UK!

Our UK Chat Rooms are based on the very solid, and oldest, long standing stable platform which ever existed - Internet Relay Chat, otherwise known as IRC! This means that you can use your very own software in order to connect to our vast range of rooms. Our favourite is mIRC, but of course, we know some of you prefer HexChat.

Chatterbox UK Goes International!

When we first started out, we followed in the footsteps of our predecessors, and also aimed our services at people looking the best online chat sites in the UK. But then, after a while, we realised we were missisng a trick! Using free chat rooms is not the same as visiting a shop, where it is only available to people who are physically in that location. Because our bespoke chat service is provided online, this basically means that anyone with a computer can join in the fun - and in 2020, that's pretty much everyone! Because of this, we now also provide free USA Chat Rooms, to our American friends across the pond! We also have regular users of our European Chat Rooms, and people who come here to chat even from Australia and New Zealand!
